Coraid, which relaunched earlier this year with an AoE (ATA over Ethernet) appliance line, last Wednesday announced the EtherDrive Z-Series NAS appliance. The appliance combines the ZFS file system with Coraid's AoE technology and includes support for a long line of features — 10 Gigabit Ethernet, in-line deduplication, replication, snapshots, compression, automatic tiering, continuous data protection, file search and thin provisioning. The EtherDrive Z-Series is available in two models – the Z2000 and ZX3000. The Z2000 has four cores, 32GB of RAM and either eight 1G Ethernet or four 10G Ethernet ports.

Coraid Inc. today launched a series of 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GbE) SANs that support SAS, SATA and solid-state drives (SSDs) on the same system, which the company is targeting for highly virtualized and cloud storage environments.
GOVIT Journal: TVAR Solutions Adds Coraid Etherdrive to GSA Schedule

Coraid, a developer of scale-out storage solutions with more than 1,100 customers worldwide, on Tuesday announced that the Coraid EtherDrive product family has been added to TVAR Solutions' GSA Schedule (GS-35F-0438T). Coraid storage solutions have already been deployed throughout a range of civilian, military, and intelligence agencies, and inclusion on TVAR Solutions' GSA Schedule marks a key milestone in Coraid's expansion within the U.S. Federal market. The company also recently announced a $10 million venture financing and the addition of senior executives.

Coraid Inc. said Monday it raised $10 million in a first round of funding and named Kevin Brown chief executive. The company said the financing came from Palo Alto-based Allegis Capital and from Azure Capital Partners, which has an office in Menlo Park.
