Coraid EtherDrive SRX: High-Performance Block Storage

Designed for performance, scalability, and simplicity, EtherDrive SRX storage arrays enable a scale-out Ethernet SAN architecture that is ideally suited to virtualization, cloud, and big data environments.

Building blocks for Ethernet SAN

The EtherDrive SRX series provides the foundation for the EtherDrive storage system by providing low latency, high bandwidth data transfer between hosts and data on the network.  Each SRX runs the CorOS distributed storage operating system to pool individual systems together into a single platform. The SRX works in conjunction with the EtherDrive VSX storage virtualization appliance to provide logical volume management and features such snapshots, clones, and remote replication. EtherDrive SRX and VSX appliances can be configured and managed using Coraid EtherCloud, the industry's first software-defined storage platform.

EtherDrive SRX provides JBOD and RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10 with minimal overhead and in a scale-out design, delivering up to 1,800 MB/s per chassis.

Feature Description
RAID Support JBOD and RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 are supported with multiple automatic global spares
EtherFlash Cache A real-time caching algorithm to ensure that the most frequently read data is served from high-performance flash SSDs
Automatic LUN Discovery
LUNs are automatically discovered by the host as systems are added to the network
Automatic Multipathing
Automatically load balances read/write I/O across all available ports and paths of the SAN
Single Instance LUN View
A persistent single instance of each LUN is presented to the host system no matter how many network paths are available, eliminating multiple representations of the same LUN
Simple LUN Naming
Simple major.minor numbering scheme is easy to understand and remember
Automatic Congestion Control
Packet queues and retransmissions are automatically adjusted to mitigate network congestion
LUN Masking
A mechanism to control access to stored data
VLAN Zoning
VLAN tags restrict access to authorized LUNs
Automatic Global Hot Spare Disks
Disk failures with a RAID LUN are automatically repaired using an available spare disk within the chassis
Drive Flexibility
Mix SATA, SAS, and SSD drives in the same chassis to customize performance and capacity
Zero Hour Support
Meta data resides with disks enabling rapid failure recovery simply by moving disks to a spare chassis
