Updates

SR firmware updates are released as tarc files and are applied as described in the SR software user manual. Each tarc update is cumulative and includes all prior updates. Reverting updates can render the appliance unusable. Only apply the latest update available unless otherwise directed by Coraid support.

Coraid is now supporting higher performance firmware releases for the SR Appliance. These releases require flash signature authorization to operate. Starting with release SR20071022, each SR must have a unique flash signature in order to put LUNs online. In order to accomodate users upgrading to the newer releases, Coraid has a mechanism in place to enable users to obtain a signature for their SRs if they do not already have one. For more information, please see the following document, SR Signature Identification Upgrade Instructions. Included in the document are instructions for avoiding downtime by updating to the SR20070924.tarc release to set the flash signature while the SR is in operation.

For more information on the specific performance enhancements for the SR152x appliances, please see Application Note ANSR002.
